Waking

Was near by the far way with an old friend that used to be like a big sister to me

We were exploring the area, looking at homes

And having drinks and meals

She said there is a spot up here exactly like home but from this vantage you can see whales on parade and many sharks and fish .

First we went shark fishing from the shore

The drop off was steep and the water golden clear and cold

It was a crisp summer morning

The sharks were amazing to watch gliding along the shoreline catching smaller fish

And then off to the edge of the jetty started a parade of whales, all different types and colors and shapes.

And a few swam in and the sharks departed.

The whales so many you couldn’t keep up the multitude and identifications

It was awe inspiring.

Joy, confusion, fear, wonder, hope.

To see so many whales so close to shore seemingly content and on parade.

The dream is fading now. The details burning off.

But it was a good dream. And if that is all I get, I will take it.

It is chilly this morning. Yesterday too hot for me.

The weather report on the far away north — it is a full 15 degrees cooler that here.

I want very much to be there.

Fingers crossed.
