It is 1:15 AM. The dream- he was in it. Somehow I was supposed to meet up with him and I got caught in some sort of border issue.

Half way on my journey my father appeared and told me he was a fraud. Don’t go he said.

I meet the first wife. She is on the border migrating in same vast crowd as me but has a living pod.

She is very thin and hanging from a trapeze and sort of exercising — but it is very cirque du soleil and sexual and makes me uncomfortable.

I tell her I will contact his current partner and that I have been told I shouldn’t meet him and explain he had been lying to me.

Then a man appears and I am in a pod being interviewed. We sit across from each other in folding chairs. He leans slightly forward arms crossed around his chest and is asking me about my life, how fulfilling has it been, what do I do with my time?

He looks like Grizzly Adams, kind, handsome and non threatening, but there is some sort of malice underneath.

I ask why he needs to know how I have spent my life and with whom.

He says,

“Sophie, how have you spent your life, who matters to you, what fills your days?

I say,

“Working, all I have done is work. Okay? Work. That is it. How’s that?”

I feel embarrassed and indignant.

“Working, you have spent your whole life working? No loves?” He asks.
