Evening Coyotes and Birds
A few nights ago the coyote pack was right at the edge of the back yard howling, yipping, barking.
It was early as well — maybe 10:30 or so.
I howled back a few times. Once it caused them to pause for a second and then they continued.
I finished my smoke and back to bed — smiling.
This evening I went to pull the trash bin up the drive and as I stepped out into the night a bird about the size of my fist fluttered right next to the right of my head by my ear. So close as to feel my hair fluff with its wings.
Too dark it seemed to be a robin, too small to be a crow. Could have been a juvenile screech owl.
I thought I heard an owl last night in the courtyard off the back of the house.
I was hypnotized on Thursday for smoking.
I haven’t a cigarette since 10:45 am that morning.
I am sneezing most constantly. I suspect quitters flu. The chemicals draining out of my cavities.
The day after the hypnosis I happened to check my Fitbit.
I was logged as asleep for 56 minutes during that two hour session.
Truth be known — each time I have gotten a stretch of abstinence from cigs — I have always felt better. Like a body of water gone calm. Not quite placid — but smoother somehow.
So day six.
