Gone
Cormac McCarthy
Never felt the need to eulogize someone or comment on their death publicly. I might have opined on Prince or Tom Petty.
I have only read a few of McCarthy’s books.
The one that hit me like a freight train was The Road.
That book absolutely devastated me.
Deep worry, a feeling of sorry, and a small sense of hope.
Stark and scary and too real. The story was just absolutely possible.
But still, in all the fright and bleakness, a little spark of maybe, even slips of humor.
And with that, he is gone.
Tis a strange world.
Funny getting to this age, realizing how quickly it is going, and how little might be left.
