Here in the far away

I stayed in this town in 2010.

It was a very hot summer as I recall.

Getting past Bangor and heading to the coast and the air was cool and the sky overcast.

Getting into the town. All seemed ancient and forgotten and standing still in time.

Sleeping the next day away listening to roosters crow casually in the neighborhood.

A breeze coming in the room.

Some one over on the next hill had opera music playing and they were singing. The sound echoing off the cloister of houses.

It was like landing in a fairytale, like going back in time to where I had grown up — but even better.

I wake here this morning.

Different neighborhood, second floor apartment, amazing views. Signs of gentrification and wealth influx noticeable. . .more so than I had hoped, but not as bad as where I now live.

Roosters, and song birds, seagulls and crows.

The trees only in bud — not blooming as things are 5 hours south in my home town.

We had steaks and asparagus and mushrooms and a bit of wine for dinner.

Retired to sleep around 8.

Waking now at 5:30 AM, sun rising, insta coffee with extra cream and a cig on the deck overlooking the bays, inlets and islands.

Vast expansive view.
