Plants

The second fig tree I got last year — failed to bloom by June. Its sibling did well and large leafs fanned out all summer.

I took the skeletal fig out of its pot and reused much of the soil for other plantings.

The skeleton has just been sitting in a root ball for two months now.

Not much rain, and the lilacs and front grape vine have taken a good beating with the heat but are still alive.

My landlord moved the hose to front of yard and I haven’t had the energy to get my own hose for the patio.

I hand watered the elderberry that had started to wilt as its pot is too small. Will get another pot come fall.

Just now poking around my hillbilly bag container garden and wondering if I should prune the grape vines and the wisteria tree and out of corner of my eye I catch a flash of bright green on one of the ends of the skeletal fig as it sits tucked away.

In fact upon inspection all of the tips of the tree have green bud points on them.

Made me smile.

I so admire plants that struggle and make it back.

Love it when weeds flower in cement cracks, when clover overtakes a lawn.

It has been an awful few years for most everyone.
