Servitude

Modernity as we currently live it allows little authentic freedom.

Everything bought and sold.

A servitude that is inescapable and ignored.

I think it is that that has followed me.

Was never able to get fully into the groove of school, socializing, work.

Most everything feels like shackles to me. School especially drove me mad.

Sitting inside boxed rooms, bad lighting, canned air half the year.

Office cube farms and cliques.

Teachers seemed made out of silly putty to me.

They could see my thoughts in my eyes and hated me for it.

Same with bosses.

Only teachers ever treated me well were the smart ones. Not flustered with my youthful seeking.

Only bosses ever treated me well were those secure in their own ego and glad I had a brain in my head.

I can count them on one hand.
