The Woman in the Bar

The woman in the bar from the 2003 time period — I saw her today at my Drs offices.

My hair looked great, long and thick and shiny — just as she commented so many years ago as she hit on my boyfriend shamelessly and drunken in front of me.

I had on a mask, and my readers but somehow we recognized each other still and did a double take towards each other as she walked past me to the elevator banks.

She looked fine. Hair a bit mousy. She does a light bronde.

My crown is mostly champagne grey and very long and wild looking.

Her hair is all blown straight and to just above her shoulders with a flip up at the ends.

Lady like looking — but kinda dull.

Now home, I google her and find she is working at MIT as an exec admin.

Her picture looks awful. Her face obviously pinched back, her eyes pulled into a slant, and her gums around her teeth look old and brown.

She looks tidy, but aged and long in the tooth.

It is nice to see — the cracks and decay. No anger left in me from decades ago when I thought she was some siren that I could never match.

Now we just two old ladies — though thankfully she has 10 on me.

;)

And if this is all I get — I will take it.

I also had on cool shoes.
